Good Morning BCS Parents and Guardians,
I am writing to provide you with an important update regarding the state budget, which has been approved by the House and Senate and is expected to be signed into law by Governor Whitmer (if it already hasn't by the time you are reading this).
We know that a stable school environment is critical for your student's success. I want to reassure you that our day-to-day school operations will not be impacted.
Key Takeaways for Families:
School is Operating as Normal: There will be no delays, pauses, or changes to our regular school schedule, classes, or services. Your student's routine remains our top priority.
Free Meals Continue: We are absolutely committed to ensuring that all of our students have the nutrition they need to learn. I am pleased to confirm that our focus on providing free breakfast and free lunch for all BCS students will continue without interruption.
School Funding Confirmed: We are confident in our financial stability. We anticipate receiving our important state aid payment on time this month, ensuring our ability to maintain all programs and services.
Thank you for your ongoing partnership and support. Your trust allows our staff to focus completely on providing a high-quality education every day.
One Team, One Goal, Every Student Thrives.

What a way to wrap up the week! ☀️ Mr. Slavik had a fantastic time wandering around BES this sunny Friday afternoon, seeing all the incredible things our students are up to!
Recess isn't just a break; it's where our students truly stay active and learn to interact with one another. Today's highlights included:
A class diligently testing parachutes for their squirrel friend – engineering in action! 🐿️🎈
Overhearing a beautiful rendition of the Star Spangled Banner sung by some patriotic girls on the swings. 🎤🇺🇸
And of course, it wouldn't be Friday without some energetic football on the field! 🏈
It's moments like these that truly show BES is growing and learning together! So much joy and creativity every single day.
