🥳 Our Huskies Competed HARD! 🐾

What a fantastic season for Breckenridge Cross Country, capped off by an intense day of competition at the MHSAA State Finals yesterday! The weather was perfect, and our runners truly poured their hearts into the race.

🏃‍♀️ Girls Cross Country Highlights

The Girls team finished in 22nd place overall at the State Finals! While it wasn't their top performance of the season, simply making it to the State Meet is a huge accomplishment and a testament to their dedication through the hot summer training days.

🏃‍♂️ Boys Cross Country Highlights

The Boys team had an outstanding day, securing an impressive 8th place finish!

This marks the first time the Boys team has cracked the Top 10 at State since 2021.

The team showcased incredible depth and potential, competing with four freshmen and three juniors (including one freshman running Cross Country for the very first time!).

🏅 All-State Performance!

A huge shout-out to Anthony Rowe, who earned All-State honors!

Anthony finished 14th overall with a new Personal Record (PR) of 16:26!

We are incredibly proud of both the Boys and Girls teams for stepping up and having fun while dominating this season. Great job, Huskies!

🐾DISTRICT CHAMPIONS!!🐾

🏆 DISTRICT CHAMPS! 🏆

Huge congratulations to our Varsity Volleyball team for defeating St. Louis last night to win the District Championship! 🎉

Next stop: Regionals! They play Beal City on Tuesday, November 11, at 7:00 PM at Houghton Lake High School.

Let's go, Huskies! Good luck next week! 🐾🏐

Communications/Community Engagement

Breckenridge Community Schools will promote collaborative partnerships between school, parents, and community to increase communication and engagement.

BCS School Improvement Surveys

🚀 Partnership in Education: Complete Our Annual Parent Survey!

We are committed to continuous improvement in our district, and that journey starts with YOU, our valued parents!

Your feedback is one of the most important components of our annual School Improvement Process. We use the data gathered to identify areas of strength and opportunities for growth in academics, school environment, communication, and more.

Please take 5-10 minutes to complete the survey for the school(s) your child attends:

🌟 Thank You, Gratiot Community Foundation! 🌟

A massive thank you to the Gratiot Community Foundation for their generous support of elementary students across Gratiot County, including right here at BCS!

Mrs. Florence, our BES Principal, was honored to accept grant funds at this year's annual breakfast. This funding will directly support our students and families in need across our district.

We are incredibly grateful for community partners who invest in the success and well-being of our youngest Huskies!

Academics/Programs

Breckenridge Community Schools will provide the time and resources to collaboratively and continually align PK-12 curriculum.

The Lion Heart Experience

Families — ask your MS/HS students about this week’s Lion Heart Experience assembly!

They’ll have lots to share — from the bucket, to the 50 cents story, and of course, the “Emotional Rollercoaster” song!

Take a few minutes tonight to talk about what they learned and how the importance of heart, mind, strength, and soul. Ask how their words are like paint and people are a canvas. We can all be a “Lion Heart” at school and at home

Leadership in Action!

Today, our student leadership team headed to Frankenmuth to participate in the MASC/MAHS Leadership Lab! Led by the student Board of Delegate members, this training was all about honing real-world leadership skills through interactive challenges.

It was an incredible opportunity to grow as leaders and connect with other student leaders across the state. We’re so proud of how our team represented our school with enthusiasm and dedication.

🥒 Update on FRED!

Great news from the greenhouse! 🌱 Our hydroponics bed is thriving, and the cucumbers are starting to form! We're excited to see the fruits (literally!) of Fred's dedication and hard work. Stay tuned for updates on our harvest!
