📚 Reading Month Celebration: Pucker Up, Huskies! |
What a way to kick off the weekend! This Friday morning, the gym was electric as we gathered to celebrate the incredible success of Reading Month.
Our Huskies didn't just meet their goals—they crushed them! To celebrate thousands of minutes read, we spent the morning giving away prizes, laughing at our "Stuffie Sleepover" highlights, and watching the moment everyone was waiting for: Kissing the Pig!
Huge thanks to our staff and students for making this morning so memorable. Enjoy the weekend, Huskies—and keep on reading!

🥚✨ Confetti & Culture in Spanish Class! |
Right before heading off for spring break, our students got hands-on with a vibrant Mexican tradition: cascarones!
To make this festive project a reality, I spent the last year collecting 1,200 eggshells, ensuring every student had a full dozen to decorate and fill. It wasn't just about the art, though—it was a full cultural immersion:
Language in Action: Students labeled their eggs with Spanish vocabulary, turning their crafts into colorful study guides.
History Lesson: We explored the origins and history of this joyful Easter Sunday tradition.
Creative Filling: Once decorated, the eggs were filled with confetti, ready for the best part!
Finally, this past Wednesday, students participated in a Mexican Easter tradition with a lively game of chase. It was a joy to watch them running outside, laughing as they cracked their confetti-packed cascarones over their classmates.

Our Breckenridge 6th and 7th graders hit the road to Hemlock today for an unforgettable day at STEM Fest! 🧪✨
Hosted by Hemlock and led by the incredible Mind Trekkers from Michigan Tech, our students got hands-on with some seriously cool science. From standing inside giant bubbles to witnessing fire tornados and exploring liquid nitrogen, the energy was electric! ⚡️
It was a fantastic day of discovery, curiosity, and future-thinking. We love seeing our Huskies exploring the wonders of STEM! 🐾💻

🌿 Greenhouse Fresh! Mark Your Calendar for May 7th 🌿 |
Our students have been busy in the greenhouse planting and nurturing a beautiful variety of flowers that will soon be ready to brighten up your home gardens! While they are still growing strong under the glass right now, these student-raised plants will be perfectly bloomed and ready for their new homes starting May 7th. We are so proud of the hard work and "green thumbs" our students have shown this season. Make sure to mark your calendars for the big sale on May 7th so you can pick out the best of the bunch and support our hardworking growers!

🚑 Life-Saving Skills in Action! 🚒 |
While our underclassmen were busy testing, the BHS Class of 2026 spent their morning at the brand-new fire hall getting hands-on with some essential life skills!
Our seniors participated in comprehensive CPR training, ensuring they are prepared to step up and save a life if the need ever arises. From chest compressions to AED basics, these students are heading toward graduation with more than just a diploma—they’re heading out with the power to make a difference.
A huge THANK YOU to the Breckenridge-Wheeler Fire and Rescue team! We truly appreciate your continued partnership and for opening up your beautiful new facility to our students. Providing this life-saving training year after year is such a vital service to our school and community.

🎳 Bowling & Buddies: A Perfect Match! 🎳 |
While some students were busy testing, our middle schoolers took a well-deserved break for a morning of bowling! The energy was high, and the smiles were even bigger.
It was the perfect opportunity for friends to catch up and form a few new friendships, all while aiming for that elusive strike! 💥
From first-timers to seasoned pros, everyone had a blast. It’s always a great time seeing our students cheering each other on and creating awesome memories together.

📣 Attention BES Parents - Important PM Pickup Info! |
We need your help to keep traffic flowing smoothly at dismissal. Due to spring sports starting up, we have increased activity at the ball fields.
Please allow for through traffic from the BES parking lot to the ball fields.
To assist with this, our maintenance team has painted fresh white lines. Please use these lines as a guide and do not block the lane. It’s essential to leave this space open for coaches, athletes, and families who need to travel to the fields for practices and games.
Thank you for your cooperation in helping to keep everyone safe and on time! ⚾️🏃♀️🚗
